A73: 30 firefighters jolt out to truck fire

The driver of a truck noticed smoke coming from the trailer while driving and stopped without warning on the emergency lane. Exemplary the driver had already separated the trailer from the tractor before the arrival of the fire department. The fire was extinguished with a foam pipe by a crew under breathing protection. In order to reach all the embers in the body of the vehicle, the load was lifted from the trailer with the aid of the crane of the tractor unit. In the meantime, one lane was reopened for traffic in the direction of nurnberg while the work was being completed. While the fire engine and the tanker were deployed to fight the fire, other vehicles took care of securing the scene. The operation for the approximately 30 volunteer firefighters was completed after a good two hours.

Eight fire engines from the forchheim fire department, two fire engines from the buckenhofen fire department and other emergency services, police and freeway maintenance staff were deployed.
